I think the conversation was something like
Person: “There’s Synchronized swimming”
Me: “Synchronized swimming is dumb, why is it an Olympic sport?”
“Who cares if you can swim exactly like the person next to you.”
“Do they have a Solo Competition?”
Person: “Umm, I dunno”
Me: “Wouldn’t it then just be called _Swimming_?”

1984 1988 and 1992. Luckily someone woke up after 1992 and decided it shouldn’t be an Olympic sport….too bad they didn’t realize it shouldn’t be allowed period.
