Fall is near…

Sunday I was happily surprised to see some pre-season football on TV. I’m sick of seeing the slacker MLB games on every night and I’m now looking forward to getting a decent sport to watch until Hockey starts back up.

There is this pet peeve of mine. It makes me wonder whether or not the people who decide where commercials go during shows pay any attention to the demographics that watch certain shows. I figure they must and that makes this certain pet peeve of mine that much more annoying.

- Feminine Hygiene/Tampon commercials during predominantly male TV shows.
Last night’s example was “Survivorman.” Now I’m sure there are plenty of women that watch this show, but I gather the demographic is largely male.
I’ve seen these types of commercials during Football, boxing, and bikini shows. Its almost like they expect the guys to inform their girlfriends/wives of the superiority of X Brand over Y Brand while he’s standing with her in the Feminine Hygiene aisle at the store.

All that said and done, here’s something to cheer everyone up.
