Fall is near…
Monday, August 13th, 2007Sunday I was happily surprised to see some pre-season football on TV. I’m sick of seeing the slacker MLB games on every night and I’m now looking forward to getting a decent sport to watch until Hockey starts back up.
There is this pet peeve of mine. It makes me wonder whether or not the people who decide where commercials go during shows pay any attention to the demographics that watch certain shows. I figure they must and that makes this certain pet peeve of mine that much more annoying.
- Feminine Hygiene/Tampon commercials during predominantly male TV shows.
Last night’s example was “Survivorman.” Now I’m sure there are plenty of women that watch this show, but I gather the demographic is largely male.
I’ve seen these types of commercials during Football, boxing, and bikini shows. Its almost like they expect the guys to inform their girlfriends/wives of the superiority of X Brand over Y Brand while he’s standing with her in the Feminine Hygiene aisle at the store.
All that said and done, here’s something to cheer everyone up.

Transformers Review
Sunday, July 8th, 2007Transformers….The Movie. Just plain fun.
Aside from the unrealistic computer ‘hacking’ that’s to be expected in any film, especially one of the comic book/cartoon type genre, this movie was awesome.
The special effects, the dialog, and the action meshed together nicely to keep me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole movie. I can only think of a brief moment where I asked myself if this scene needed to be this long. I also thought the Autobot introductions were a bit corny. Overall I recommend this to anyone who likes a good action packed movie. And props to the inclusion of Amateur Radio called ‘shortwave radio’ saving the day when worldwide communication was stopped by Decepticons.
And my favorite part..I’m going to continue my ‘beauty’ category with a couple of the gorgeous women that were the stars in Transformers.
